PreSET-
03 ( Detailed Analysis ) |
| |
The
countdown has begun!.....Only one more threshold to cross!….
There were no surprises in the PreSET-03 paper. A set pattern
was followed for most of the questions. There were no highs
and lows in the difficulty level as the paper was moderate.
In
this round too, there was no change in the difficulty level
of section I i.e. Quantitative Ability. Most of the questions
ranged from easy to moderate. But do not let this lull you.
Keep working on your numbers.
As
usual, section II belonged to Verbal Ability. Though the
difficulty level varied from easy to moderate, the surprise
question type i.e. ‘Choose the grammatically and semantically
correct sentence’ was a little tough. The focus of
these questions was on punctuations, subject-verb agreement
and correct sentence structure. Questions based on error
in sentences, synonyms, antonyms and spellings provided
a great relief. They were easy to answer provided you have
a good vocabulary.
Reading comprehension passage was simple in comparison to
that of the first PreSET. There were no inference based
questions. But deep reading of the passage was required
to solve the specific detailed questions. The difficulty
level of questions on 'Fill in the blanks', 'Replace the
underlined part' and 'Parts of speech' was easy to moderate.
Logical
and Analytical Reasoning section saw a radical change in
the difficulty level. Deviating from the previous PreSET,
this paper saw relatively easy questions. This section followed
a straightforward path because most of the questions were
based on the basic mathematical concepts.
In
PreSET-03 as well, the GK section included simple and clear-cut
questions based on what is happening all around the world.
By now, you must have become habituated to reading newspapers
and select magazines, as GK is impossible without having
a sound knowledge of current affairs.
