College of engineering Pune (COEP) touched the highest cut-off
among the state's six autonomous engineering colleges at
the end of the first round of the Centralised Admission
Process by counselling in autonomous institutes (CAPCAI).
Cut-off percentages of admission in the first year bachelor
of technology in autonomous colleges in the state were put
up on the college of engineering website www.coep.org.in
recently.
This time too, the electronics and telecommunication (E&TC)
and computer engineering were the hot favourites with the
cut-off at the COEP touching 191/200 and 189/200, respectively.
The cut-off for electronics was highest at the Veermata
Jijabai technological institute (VJTI), Mumbai at 189/200.
University institute of chemical technology (UICT), Mumbai
was the only other college which touched the cut-off of
189 in its chemical technology stream.
Professor of electrical and member of the centralized admission
process (cap) V S Bandal, said E&TC and computer engineering
cut-offs have been in the range of 191-193 for over five
years. in the case of computer engineering, too, the cut-offs
have been in the range of 189 and 190.
COEP has been the hot favourite among engineering colleges.
The second rounds of admissions for Pune's autonomous engineering
colleges COEP and VIT will be held on July 26. Those who
have not taken or could not take admission during the first
round will be eligible in this round. Also eligible are
those candidates who did not get admission to any other
engineering college under CAP conducted by DTE and had earlier
applied under the CAPCAI.
