Direct admission to second year of four year degree courses in engineering and technology for the academic year 2008-2009 in the state's autonomous institutes began on friday.

The six autonomous colleges include Veermata Jijabai technological institute, Mumbai, college of engineering Pune, Shri Guru Gobind Singhji College of Engineering &Technology, Nanded and Walchand College of Engineering, Sangli.

The admissions will be conducted through Centralised Admission Process (CAP).
