• IIT-Hyderabad opens admissions at high rank  •

Among the six new Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT), the Hyderabad campus opened admissions at an impressive 634 All India Rank (AIR) for electrical engineering. This is the only IIT which has managed to woo a large number of SC and ST candidates. Up north, Punjab admitted the next batch of high-ranking students. Computer science engineering there opened at rank 1,415. Jaipur was the next best choice. Admission at IIT-Jaipur opened at All India Rank 1,771. That was followed by Gandhinagar, the IIT that is being mentored by IIT-Bombay. It opened its admissions counter at rank 2,259 for electrical engineering.
